Representatives of the Ministry of Energy of Republic of Kazakhstan, local administration of Astana city, United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) attended in the opening and plenary session of the Forum.
Speakers told about the current situation in Kazakhstan in the field of renewable energy and waste management, global trends and main directions of waste management system development in the world, also main elements of UNEP / ISWA Global Waste Management Review were presented.
On the first day of the Forum, on sessions "Smart Energy in Smart City" and "Waste-to-Energy", participants discussed opportunities and prospects of development of "green" energy, particularly, generation of energy from waste in Kazakhstan. Key speakers were representatives of the Department of Renewable Energy of Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, foreign enterprises producing equipment for generating energy from waste. Participants were presented with modern equipment for producing clean energy from various wastes.
